Seawater leak identified on the seawater supply line.
Nature of Defect
During normal operating conditions a seawater leak was identified on the seawater supply line. The client was unable to get any isolation on this line and required a full live repair to be applied.
Solution
Metalyte Pipeworks used their bespoke Titan 505 system to seal all leak paths. An over wrap using there Kevlar reinforced composite was used to add strength and to prevent further issues.
Repair Method
Metalyte Pipeworks initially used the Titan 505 system to encapsulate the leaking area and seal all leak paths. Once all the leaks were sealed, the flanges were built up and the full repair length was encapsulated using a Kevlar reinforced bonding resin. This was then over wrapped in a field applied composite system.
