14 inch Fire Water Ring main

The 14” Fire Water Ring main has resulted in severe wall loss causing a large through wall defect with a leak rate at 10bar operating.

Nature of the defect

The 14” Fire Water Ring main has resulted in severe wall loss causing a large through wall defect with a leak rate at 10bar operating. The client required a composite repair to seal the leak, restore structural integrity and bring the line back up to its full operation design specification.

Repair method

The Titan 505 leak seal technology was used to control the leak and divert the flow away from the work site. The Titan 505 leak seal composite was injected with our bespoke sealant technology.

Once sealed the injection system is allowed to cure to ensure any small leak paths are sealed. The full area was prepped using a MBX / Bristle blaster to SSP.SP11 standards and the repair area profiled to form a smooth geometry.

Our glass fibre composite Dragon-Q-STD system was applied and then cured with our heater blanket. Shore D hardness tests were completed with all QA documentation completed, and our UV protection applied.
