NATURE OF DEFECT
There was a leakage at the bonnet gasket and the customer required a live leak sealing solution to prevent shutdown. The valve was operating live at 80 bar and 300 °C.
SOLUTION
Metalyte Pipeworks designed and validated an enclosure which utilised a Vulcan sealant injection. The design was supported with full ASME VIII Div.1 calculations.
REPAIR METHOD
The clamp enclosure was installed safely and on time in line with engineering guidance, ensuring integrity of the pressurised system.
